The RetroCode COBOL Powercamp is a specialized training program that trains developers in COBOLmainframe technologies and in dealing with legacy systems . Our goal is to qualify new COBOL developers so that they can safely operate, integrate, and further develop established enterprise systems – a skill set that is particularly in demand in banks, insurance companies, and industrial enterprises .

(2 Monate, Bended Learning)

Fundamentals phase:

COBOL & Mainframe Basiswissen

In the RetroCode COBOL Powercamp, we teach all core technologies needed for professional work in legacy environments:


  • COBOL Introduction – basics, syntax, and modern applications
  • IMS Basics – functioning of the IBM Information Management System
  • Z/OS Training – overview of the IBM Information Management System
  • DB2 Basics – database model, queries, and typical applications
  • DL/1 Transaction Manager – understanding of transaction management
  • IMS Access – Deepening access to databases and transactions
  • SQL for DB2/Oracle – advanced SQL knowledge for relational systems
 
(4 Monate)

Coaching phase:

Deepening and practical application

subsequently, an intensive and supervised practical phase follows:

  • Expansion of COBOL knowledge using real legacy scenarios
  • Weekly feedback loops for continuous development
  • Professional support in specific project situations from our experts

After completing the program, participants will have:
